Organised by Delhi Tourism and crafts organisation Dastkar, the Dastkar Design Fair is showcasing an array of crafters’ brands in the capital, the event announced on Facebook. The business-to-customer fair features product categories including terracotta jewellery, folk art garments and accessories, pashmina, shibori, pichwai paintings, hand carved and woven furniture, and pottery among others.

The fair also features a special display of cashmere cotton, “regenerated fabric” products, Madhubani, and a capsule collection of Chikankari. Modern crafts brand Get Wildflower is retailing its range of embellished handbags and accessories as one of the many up-and-coming brands featured at the fair.

The event aims to display “traditional Indian crafts contemporized with style and elan,” according to the event’s Facebook page. A number of cultural performances including a Manganiyar performance from Rajasthan will also run from January 18 to 19 and regional food is also available.

Dastkar also recently held a showcase of indigenous wool from Kachchh at its “Desi Oon” event in New Delhi’s Bikaner House from January 10 to 13. The showcase showcased clothing and accessories made from the wool and also featured a workshop and photographs chronicling the lives of the weavers, artisans, and designers who created the products.
