Daniel Wellington drops new watch collection, Hailey Bieber among new brand 'faces'
Swedish watch and jewellery brand Daniel Wellington has unveiled its biggest product launch to date with the Iconic Link Collection that’s being backed by a global campaign featuring some well-known faces.
"It's been three years in the making, but on my mind since day one," said founder Filip Tysander.
The brand’s new faces have clearly been chosen to appeal to a wide consumer group around the world and include American model Hailey Bieber, NFL player Odell Beckham Jr, Chinese singer-songwriter Lay Zhang, South Korean model and actress Sung Kyoung Lee, Bollywood actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Radhika Apte, and Argentinian soccer player Paulo Dybala.
The company said it chose the seven faces, as each is “an icon in their own right, [and they] perfectly capture the new Iconic Link's bold and modern sensibility.”
CMO Anders Hedman said: ”We selected the seven faces representing this launch with the word 'icon' in mind. Daniel Wellington is a global movement, and the selection of these faces capture our global scope, featuring leaders in fashion, sport and entertainment from all over the world.”
The new watch offer itself is available in polished stainless steel or rose gold plating, and features a metal bracelet with three-piece links. The sculptural lines of the raised mid-piece blend with the watch case, and are intended to give the brand's 12-index dial “a modern silhouette”.
