The Cuttack Tarkashi Association will present a collection of silver filigree rings, bracelets, and earrings studded with semi-precious stones at the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show before presenting its work across the U.S. The Tucson Gem & Mineral Show will run from February 10 to 13 at the Tucson Convention Centre in Arizona, according to its website. The trade show has attracted international businesses and buyers since the 1970s.

“Despite being made using rudimentary production techniques that yield low economic returns to the local artisans, the modern filigree collection is bound to resonate with younger generations,” the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council said about the association.

“The artisans have been engaged in conceptualising, drawing, and making each piece by hand. The consortium is now pinning its hopes on a positive response in the U.S. to the handcrafted jewellery in order to support the community of independent artisans.”

The Cuttack Tarkashi Association is a group of five micro, small, and medium enterprises made up of 20 craftspeople. The association retails its silver jewellery on a number of multi-brand online platforms in India including Amazon India and Nina’s Tarkashi, among others.
