Crocs appoints Sumit Dhingra as new general manager for India

The Colorado-based footwear brand Crocs has appointed Sumit Dhingra as the new general manager for the Indian market. He will also be leading operations in Sri Lanka and Nepal.

He joins Crocs from textiles major Arvind Fashions where he was the CEO for Arrow, Aeropostale, and Izod. He had played an instrumental role in repositioning Arrow and launching Aeropostale in India.
In his new role, Dhingra will be responsible for the growth and expansion of Crocs in India.
The company is looking to strengthen its retail presence in tier 2, 3 towns through multi-brand outlets and kiosks in which Dhingra is expected to play a key role.
India is one of the important markets for the brand and currently the sixth largest globally in terms of revenue with high double-digit growth year on year.
Crocs had entered the Indian market with its first store in 2008 and today is present in over 1,500 point of sales across 150 cities through exclusive brand stores and multi-brand outlets.
