The Swiss chronograph specialist has opted to pay tribute to football star Cristiano Ronaldo, one of its most recognizable brand ambassadors, with a limited edition watch, the Formula 1 CR7.

A TAG Heuer brand ambassador since 2014, Cristiano Ronaldo now has a chronograph named after him. The Formula 1 CR7 is a numbered limited edition, the fruit of the collaboration between the famous footballer and the luxury watchmaker.

Based on the Formula 1 Chronograph, the CR7 has a black and green color scheme on the bracelet, the dial and the hands, evoking the football pitch that the Real Madrid superstar shines on.

The main design flourish of the CR7 is the checkered-patterned dial, which contrasts with the three circular registers: tenths of a second are displayed by a small counter at 6 o'clock, the small counter at 9 o'clock displays the minutes, and the counter at 3 o'clock, dominated by the large CR7 text, is for the current seconds.

The watch case has a 42mm steel case coated in titanium carbide, the same material as the bezel that bears the chronograph's tachymeter scale.

Waterproof up to 200m, the timepiece also has a steel caseback again carrying the CR7 logo.

Final detail: the black and green NATO strap, inspired by the nylon straps used by the British Army during World War II, with keepers, buckle and pin made from 316L stainless steel, for both a chic and sporty feel.
