Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India celebrated menswear on day one with a joint runway showcase for Countrymade, Son of a Noble Snob, and Khanijo.

On October 12, Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the FDCI kicked off at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre with online broadcasts across social media and the web. To showcase emerging talent in menswear, the FDCI chose three up-and-coming brands to spotlight this season, starting with Countrymade.

Countrymade’s collection mixed textured denim with knits and retro-inspired layering to create a wearable yet nostalgic capsule wardrobe. Bolder looks were made from a painterly take on camouflage, made into tailored overcoats and matching sets.

Son of a Noble Snob’s collection also played with neutral tones in a more earthy, almost deconstructed way. Long-line, fluid blazers and loose trousers were printed with abstract lines and the long-top-over-trousers took an Indian classic menswear silhouette and reimagined it for a global audience.

Khanijo’s collection was more futuristic with monochrome separates featuring geometric lines and cut-out segments. Models wore black kajal on their eyes and outfits were styled with sneakers for a casual touch to the Avant Garde ensembles.

Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the FDCI runs from October 12 to 16. This season, the joint fashion week features a range of sustainable fashion initiatives, phygital events, and design contests.
