Cortefiel brands Springfield, Women’s Secret to expand retail presence in India
Tablez India, part of LuLu Group International are planning to expand the retail presence of Cortefiel brands Springfield & Women’s Secret in India by adding 15 stores annually across leading metro cities.
Both the brands owned by parent Grupo Cortefiel were introduced in India earlier this year after Cortefiel signed a deal with Tablez India to launch the brands in the Indian and Sri Lankan markets.
As part of its expansion plan and partnership with Cortefiel, Tablez recently added a store for its lingerie brand Women’s secret in the financial capital Mumbai at High Street Phoenix.
The group is planning to open 9 stores of Springfield and 6 stores of Women’s Secret in leading metros like Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi in 2018. It has set a target of adding 15 stores a year with an aim touch 75 stores by 2022 for both brands.
Tablez India is optimistic that both brands will deliver in the booming apparel market in India as according to the firm its first stores have got great response from the customers.
Tablez had opened exclusive stores for Springfield and Women’s Secret at in Phoenix Market City Mall in the city’s Whitefield district in July this year.
Commenting on the launch of its second store Adeeb Ahamed, Managing Director, Tablez India, in a statement said, “We are excited to open the first outlets of Springfield and Women’s Secret in Mumbai. We've had a great response from our stores in Bengaluru and we are sure the brand and offerings will align perfectly with fashion-conscious youth in Mumbai as well.”
“There is a huge influence of international brands in India, especially in apparel space. Going into 2018, our expansion plans will take the brands across major metros of India. We plan to open 9 stores of Springfield and 6 stores of Women’secret in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. By 2022 we hope to open 75 stores for both brands,” Ahamed added.
Springfield is a popular casual wear lifestyle brand with presence in 941 stores across 73 countries offering international fashion for both men and women while Women’s Secret is a lingerie and innerwear brand with presence of 630 stores across 50 countries.
Tablez Retail is a newly created subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based group Tablez Food, specialised in retail and catering chains.
Tablez Retail is keen to import and develop lifestyle and apparel retailers into India, and has recently signed a deal to deploy Toys "R" Us in the country. Tablez Food is part of the Abu Dhabi-based LuLu group, which operates a hypermarket empire in 21 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
