Consul General of India, Sydney to participate in upcoming FOMA Runway Showcase

The Consul General of India, Sydney will take part in Fashions of Multicultural Australia’s Runway Show in Sydney, Australia for the first time this summer and celebrate the nation’s fashion industry.
FOMA 2020 will take place on June 20 and will feature a cultural designer exhibit and runway show featuring Indian designs, along with clothing from a number of other countries, the event announced on Facebook. The show will take place at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences in Sydney.
The General Consul of India will join the event for the first time along with representatives from countries including Israel, Thailand, Chile, and China.
“Fashion is about identity,” announced FOMA on Facebook.
“It's about social history. It is a common denominator among all cultures and a catalyst for social cohesion. Fashions of Multicultural Australia supported by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade NSW, brings you another spectacular annual array of designers and cultural exhibits on Saturday 20 June 2020.”
Indian model Bhauvana Tolani will walk the runway at the event, along with models from many other countries. Australian first-nation designers and refugee designers will also take part, along with a group of international designers.
FOMA held its first edition in 2019 and drew a crowd of 3,000 guests. The event is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia.
