Compaq TV to launch smartwatches in 2023

Smart TV brand Compaq has its eyes on India’s fast growing smartwatch market. In 2023, the business plans to launch its first smartwatches to diversify its customer base. 

Compaq-branded smart TVs are produced through a strategic partnership between HP and Delhi-based Ossify Industries. As part of the partnership, Ossify Industries can design, develop, and distribute Compaq TVs. The brand’s products are designed to be advanced yet affordable. 
 
“Compaq has always been dedicated towards making advanced and quality products easily accessible and affordably priced,” said Ossify Industries Private Limited’s CEO Amitabh Tiwari, India Retailing Bureau reported. “Viewing the massive market acceptance and popularity of our smart televisions, we are now planning to take a step ahead and introduce people with uniquely designed smart watches – a perfect balance between panache and performance.” 

Compaq aims to harness the reputation it has built through its smart TVs to engage new shoppers and expand its offering. India’s smartwatch market is one of the largest in the world and smart wearables are increasingly being adopted both in metro and more rural locations. 
 
The business retails with an omni-channel approach and saw particular traction during the recent festive sales. Compaq smart TVs are some of the most popular in India, according to the brand, and Compaq TV aims to replicate this with its upcoming smartwatch line.
