Colgate-Palmolive India Q4 net profit rises 3 percent to Rs 324 crore

FMCG major Colgate-Palmolive India Ltd (CPIL) reported a 3 percent increase in net profit at Rs 323 crore ($41.7 million) for the fourth quarter ended March 2022, as against Rs 315 crore in posted in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by one percent to Rs 1,293 crore, as against Rs 1,275 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

CPIL's total expenses grew slightly for the quarter to Rs 917 crore in as against Rs 908 crore in the same period a year ago.

For the financial year ended March 2022, CPIL's net profit stood at Rs 1,078 crore while its revenue was Rs 5,066 crore.

Commenting on the results, Mukul Deora, chairmain CPIL in a statement said, “In an environment of macro challenges and softening consumption, the company was able to deliver balanced growth in the toothpaste category while the toothbrush category witnessed a softening in demand. Calibrated pricing and focus on cost optimisation initiatives and efficiencies helped deliver consistent gross margins.”

“While the company crossed the Rs 5,000 crore mark, we continue to remain focused on our core brands and strengthen our innovation initiatives for the future,” he added.

Colgate-Palmolive India is one of the leading players in India’s personal care segment with a strong portfolio of brands in the grooming segment.
