On Monday, Citrine launched a week long pop-up store for Jodi inside its multi-brand boutique in Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata. This is the first time the up-and-coming label has had a pop-up in the city and the event sees the brand launch its new collection Orient Express.

The pop-up store features an array of printed summer clothing with Jodi’s signature bold and fun take. Pastel hues, traditional Chinese dragons, and sheer layers create a look that is decidedly Indian but also eclectic and well-travelled. Jodi recently held a pop-up store in New Delhi and has grown significantly this year.

Jodi was launched by fashion stylists-turned designers Karuna Laungani and Gauri Verma to fill what they perceived as a gap in the market for a fun, Indian-centred high street brand.

“We both understood the need to bring to the fore the country’s heritage through fashion, and at a reasonable price,” Laungani wrote on the brand’s social media. “The label was born out of our shared love for craft, culture, fashion, and travel.”
