CIBJO to hold annual congress in Jaipur this October

The World Jewellery Confederation has chosen Jaipur, Rajasthan as the location for its 2023 annual Congress this October. The international event will be held in person for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. 

The pre-congress meetings will run from October 1 to 2 and the congress itself will run from October 3 to 5, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website. The venue has been set as the Jaipur Exhibition and Congress Centre and the event will be jointly hosted by the GJEPC and the National Gem and Jewellery Council of India.
 
“It promises to be a spectacular Congress and the first to be held in person since 2019, before the onset of the pandemic,” said CIBJO president Gaetano Cavalieri, the GJEPC reported. “For many of us, it will be an opportunity to meet face to face after more than three years, and I cannot think of a more appropriate and exotic setting to do this. My thanks to our Indian hosts and especially our CIBJO vice president, Pramod Agrawal, who is also the NGJCI Chairman, and Vipul Shah, the GJEPC Chairman.”

The CIBJO will soon launch a website dedicated to the 2023 Congress. The event is designed to serve as the official gathering place for the World Jewellery Confederation’s Assembly of Delegates to bring them together to amend and update its directories of international industry standards for diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, gem labs, precious metals, coral and responsible sourcing.
