Chidiyaa, a brand that handcrafts sarees using traditional block prints and weaves, has been travelling India showcasing its designs. The next stop for the brand is New Delhi where Chidiyaa will hold a pop-up shopping event and showcase from February 22 to 24. The free event will give shoppers a chance to discover the brand and also aims to promote traditional weaves.

The pop-up shop will feature brightly coloured shift dresses, sarees, and blouses, all hand printed using traditional wooden printing blocks. The brand promotes slow fashion and uses simple silhouettes to show off its rustic prints.

Previously, the brand held a similar event in Kolkata from February 14 to 16 where visitors came to shop the latest collection. January saw the brand travel to Mumbai for a pop-up on January 4 to 6 in the city’s Fort district.

Chidiyaa, which means “house sparrow”, was founded by Deepanshu Ohlan in 2016. The brand retails a mix of traditional sarees and blouses as well as modern, fusion wear dresses. With a dedicated e-commerce site, the brand ships worldwide.
