Chennai Jewellers Association elects H.M. Sultan Mohideen as new president

The Chennai Jewellers Association has named H.M. Sultan Mohideen as its new president. Mohideen will serve in his new role as president from 2023 to 2025.

The decision was made at a General Body meeting of the Chennai Jewellers Association, held in December, 2022, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website. Mohideen was unanimously elected as the Chennai Jewellers Association’s president by all voters..
On January 20, Mohideen formally assumed his new position at a dinner function hosted by the Chennai Jewellers Association at the GRT Hotel in T. Nagar in Chennai. The event was attended by members of the Chennai Jewellers Association as well as some of Chennai’s biggest names in jewellery, according to the association. The event’s guest list also included the GJEPC’s regional chairman- south Princeson Jose and Babu Emanuel, former president of the Madras Jewellers Association among others.
In his new role of president, Mohideen will be tasked with leading growth in the Chennai jewellery industry by advocating for local jewellers and forging industry partnerships. The Chennai Jewellers Association works to boost jewellery manufacturing in Tamil Nadu, uplift the industry, and promote skill upgradation.
H.M. Sultan Mohideen is the founder and director of Tamil Nadu-based jewellery brand Sultan Jewels. The brand specialises in traditional style gemstone jewellery and its flagship store in located in Chennai, according to the brand’s website.
