Grangié will report directly to Alain Wertheimer, Chanel's principal shareholder with his brother Gérard, who will take charge of the group's management again.

Grangié will succeed Philippe Mougenot, President of Chanel's watch-jewellery division since 1999. In a press release, Chanel stated that Mougenot has decided to leave the group "to devote his time to his family and his interests." He is expected to leave at the end of June.
