Cerruti 1881 has opened a new store in Harbor City, the luxury shopping mall housing more than 700 brands. The store pays homage to Vico Magistretti, who designed the brands Parisian store in 1957. “The ‘Eptaclinio’ floor lamps, ‘Atollo’ table lamps and leather stools found in the store are all exact replicas of Magistretti’s original designs,” explains the brand. This new look will become the template for all Asian Cerruti 1881 stores.

Since April 2011, the Paris-based company has been under the control of Chinese Trinity, a menswear subsidiary of the Li & Fung group who also own the United Kingdom’s Gieves & Hawkes and Hardy Amies. Before becoming owners, Trinity was also the brands first Chinese partnership.

Many of the brands other stores that were previously franchises are now to considered stores of their own. Since the change of ownership the brand has seen many transformations; an end to its women’s wear line, a new president (Catherine Vautrin) and a new artistic director (Aldo Maria Camillo). To date, there are more than 120 stores in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singpore.
