Cartier names Deepika Padukone as brand ambassador

Bollywood celebrity Deepika Padukone has been named as the new brand ambassador for French fine jewellery brand Cartier. 

“The Maison is pleased to welcome the Indian actress, producer and philanthropist Deepika Padukone to the family as its newest ambassador,” wrote Cartier in a Tweet posted on its official Twitter account. 
 
Padukone had recently worn Cartier jewellery to the Cannes Film Festival 2022. By naming Padukone as its new brand ambassador, Cartier hints that it plans to increase its focus on the Indian market. 

“As an inspiring actress and committed philanthropist, Deepika embodies the Maison’s spirit and values of celebrating creativity, universality and open-mindedness,” said Cartier’s chief marketing officer Arnaud Carrez in a statement, India Today reported. 
 
Padukone has previously been associated with fine jewellery brands Tanishq and Chopard. The actress also became the first ever Indian woman to be named as an official brand ambassador for luxury label Louis Vuitton earlier in the year. 
 
Cartier is known for its watches and fine jewellery and the brand was established in France in 1847, according to its website. Cartier currently has one flagship store in India, located within Delhi’s luxury shopping mall DLF Emporio.
