Caroline Vreeland is the new face of Steve Madden
Steve Madden is keeping the 90s resurgence intact with his newest campaign, starring Caroline Vreeland. The great-granddaughter of the legendary Diana Vreeland is the shoe brand’s latest face.
The 29-year-old singer and model wears 90s-inspired platforms in the brand’s newly-released pre-fall ad. The massive platform is an homage to the era in which Steve Madden, which launched in 1990, got its start. The campaign, titled “Choose Your Platform,” also includes a video released on Instagram showing Vreeland modeling the brightly-colored platform. The brand also created the hashtag #imwithsteve to accompany the campaign.
“The woman who wears a Steve Madden shoe is active, adventurous, fashion-forward and not afraid to be daring when it comes expressing herself through fashion,” Vreeland said of the brand.
Steve Madden celebrated Vreeland’s campaign with a launch party V magazine’s office in New York City. Madden says he chose Vreeland to represent the brand for her impeccable style and unique perspective. “She’s part Marilyn Monroe, part Amy Winehouse. She’s my kind of girl,” he said.
Vreeland has developed a following through social media, with more than 241,000 followers on Instagram. In addition to modeling, she also works as a singer-songwriter. She will also star in the brand’s upcoming Fall 2017 campaign.
