Multi-brand streetwear retailer Capsul plans to launch international apparel brand Les Benjamins and capsule collection Chi Modu online in India, and launch its own capsule t-shirt collection this year.

This April, Capsul plans to launch Istanbul-based luxury streetwear brand Les Benjamins in India, the brand told Vogue India. Les Benjamins creates menswear and womenswear and has a futuristic take on streetwear.
The brand also plans to launch capsule collection Chi Modu on its online store next month. Chi Modu, who is a Nigerian-American photographer, created a line of clothing featuring some of his photos of celebrities taken over his 30 year-long career including photos of Snoop Dogg and Mike Tyson.
Capsul plans to launch its own line of t-shirts this year and hold three to four more of its ‘Word on the Street’ events. The interactive events aim to bring together youth culture creators in areas including fashion, art, and music.
Capsul was “launched with the goal to make global brands with cultural clout and independent design available to the discerning Indian Gen Z and millennial, through an authentic lens of story-telling and community,” co-founder Bhavisha Dave told Vogue India.
“Along with homegrown initiatives, we saw an opportunity to introduce streetwear brands to the Indian audience because we realised these brands have takers here as well.”
Meenakshi Singh and Bhavisha Dave launched Capsul in 2018, after the duo had worked together at sportswear brand Puma.
The site launched with eight brands and added a further nine brands to its roster in its first six months. The brand now retails 19 streetwear brands and some of its best selling labels include Stussy, Thrasher, and The Hundreds.
