The CAIT has further criticised Flipkart and Amazon for its business practices in India and plans to hold a number of protest marches across the country this month and into 2020, the Press Trust of India reported. The organisation issued a statement on November 3 intended to garner support and notify the government of its plans.

"Both Amazon and Flipkart still continue to sell goods on their portal at predatory pricing, deep discounting, controlling inventory, promoting preferential sellers and influencing prices," read the CAIT’s statement, reported by the Press Trust of India.

On November 10, the CAIT will hold a meeting at the National Governing Council in New Delhi. Following this, the organisation will submit a memorandum to all members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on November 13 to state its intentions.

The CAIT will organise Dharnas (peaceful protests) on November 20 in around 200 cities across the country. This will be followed by a traders’ protest march on November 25 planned to take place in 500 districts.

On November 28, the CAIT plans more protest marches in over 1,000 locations intended to spread awareness of what it deems unethical business practices engaged in by Amazon and Flipkart. On December 2, a traders’ rally is planned for all state capitals and on December 10, the organisation plans rally for business leaders. A National Traders Convention is also planned for January, 2020.
