Jan 4, 2016
The American brand specialised in mountain and snowboarding equipment has revised the structure of its top management team. Donna Carpenter, the brand's co-owner, has been appointed CEO, while John Lacy is the new President. Jake Burton remains Chairman of the board of directors.
In the last five years Donna Carpenter, Burton's co-owner, acted in the role of brand's president.
From 1st February, Carpenter will become the new CEO for the company specialised in snowboarding equipment and apparel. She has acted in several managerial roles for Burton since 1982.
She succeeds Mike Rees, the brand's CEO since May 2014, who will remain as advisor to the management. At the same time, John Lacy, who joined Burton in 1997 to manage snow products and is currently products director, becomes the brand's new President.
Jake Burton, Burton's founder and co-owner, remains Chairman of the board of directors. Burton Snowboards was founded in 1977 and is a major player in the snowboard industry. The sport has however faced a marked decline in practitioners in the last few years.
