Burberry to take part in Baselworld for first time

The 2013 edition of jewelry and watch trade show, Baselworld, will take place between and 25 April and 2 May at the Basel exhibition centre and will welcome more than 1400 exhibitors. At the event, visitors will be able to discover the most important players in the sector, which has recently been hit by an increase in demand, in particular from emergent markets.

The event’s organizers have underlined an increase in important luxury brands take part in the show. Rolex, Hublot and Zénith will join Chanel and Gucci for the tenth anniversary edition of Baselworld, spread over three floors measuring 500m² each. Baselworld’s organizers claim that many luxury houses use the event to take inspiration for new collections, citing the current rose gold trend, for example, which has infiltrated the designs many French and Italian luxury brands.

'The Britain'


New addition to the 2013 show is British fashion house Burberry, who will be showing its watch collection, licensed by Fossil. In a high-tech, two-storied booth created by the Burberry architects and Christopher Bailey himself, Burberry will showcase its watch offering which in includes ‘The Britian’, a British-designed, Swiss-made watch which launched in 2012.
