Or maybe we should make that corsair chic, in the latest intermarriage of high-fashion and techy sports-gear by Vuitton’s designer, revealed online to editors Tuesday afternoon.

Gals in pirates boots, anchoring combinations of culottes, oversized track jackets and big-shouldered leather warrior matelassé vests. While other female filibusters stood their ground in thigh boots under an assemblage of sleeveless XXXL trench coats over Vuitton-script blousons and orange sailor wind-cheaters.

While on shore Nicolas' gals preferred zippered track pants so long they grazed the floor for six inches; great striped jean-jackets with a chain print; Grace O’Malley lace shirts and patchwork blousons.

For his latter-day Anne Bonny, Captain Blood Ghèsquiere chose actress Stacy Martin for his shoot. The designer dubbing her “a new heroine of the Nouvelle Vague.”  The Anglo-French thespian exploded to fame in the 2014, starring in Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac.

“Stacy has innate elegance and an inspiring personality. I have a lot of respect for her career path, her bold choices and the roles she takes on. I very much enjoyed photographing Stacy. So cool and laid-back, I love the way she wears my collections,” commented Ghèsquiere.

Ghèsquiere may have created a punchier street fashion vernacular than many had expected from his tenure at Vuitton, but he certainly knows how to drive an accessories team. The all-important new bags - from the mini clutches with multiple zippered pouches in monogram print or a new over-the-shoulder barrel bag with shoulder strap - will keep Vuitton’s faithful crew more than happy.

Though the shoot was certainly eccentric – a tour of a tony chateau taking in everything from box-hedge gardens and beautiful marble consul table to giant copper cooking pans and, for some reason, its bidet.
