Bridal wear specialist Abhinav Mishra steps into resort wear

Abhinav Mishra has launched his first ever resort wear collection to translate his classic take on traditional wear into new, more playful silhouettes. The designer’s ‘Destination 2023’ collection has launched on the brand’s dedicated e-commerce store. 

Mishra’s first foray into resort wear has gone live online, the brand announced on Facebook. The collection was launched with a photoshoot starring Bollywood actress Ananya Panday, shot for Lifestyle Asia, and these photos are now being used as the brand’s e-commerce pictures for the collection. 
 
Featuring traditional craft techniques including mirror work as well as resham and zari embroidery, the resort collection stays true to Mishra’s classic peachy colour palette and use of heritage textiles. What is different with this collection is the silhouettes of the garments which are both more casual and more revealing, apt for beach weddings and poolside parties. 

“This venture has been a long time coming for me,” Mishra told Vogue India about the new line. “After several conversations with friends, brides and patrons over the years, I felt the need to push my own creative boundaries by forming different silhouettes as design and innovation is something I've always loved. Having said that, our brand is deeply rooted in weddings and celebrations… Noting that our bridal campaigns have a strong celebratory vibe to them, I wanted to completely go left field and create a resort collection that signifies that change while keeping the essence of the brand alive. Entering the niche and staple market of resort wear is something that extends the brands reach and portfolio, helping us to engage with various realms of fashion.”
