Brandman Retail acquires India rights for New Balance
Delhi-based Brandman Retail has strengthened its brand portfolio with the acquisition of the retailing rights for sportswear brand New Balance in the Indian market.
With this association, New Balance aims to strengthen its omnichannel presence and make deeper inroads in the country’s booming sportswear market.
Brandman has already set up retail stores for the company in Select Citywalk mall in Delhi; Mall of India, Noida, and Alpha One Mall in Ahmedabad. It plans to further strengthen its presence across India by partnering with retailers like Shoppers Stop and Lifestyle, among others.
Commenting on the association, Kavya Malhotra, chairman at Brandman Retail Pvt Ltd, in a statement said: “We are excited to work closely with New Balance to grow their footprint in India. It is undoubtedly an iconic brand synonymous with performance and aesthetic which we are very proud to associate with. With the growing focus on sports and fitness, we feel there is huge potential in expanding the brands presence across the country with a long term sustainable growth strategy.”
Brandman claims that New Balance will have around 35 points-of-sales across India before the end of FY21-22 along with a strong online presence across Brandman's website and other leading e-commerce platforms.
The Boston, Massachusetts-based footwear and apparel company New Balance was earlier managed by the Mumbai-based Major Brands Group from 2016 in India.
