Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing sees Rs 93 crore loss in FY23 Q2

Retail and textiles business Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Co Ltd saw its revenue increase by 50.37% year-on-year in the second quarter of the 2023 financial year. However, the business’ consolidated net loss remained high at Rs 93.02 crore for the quarter.

The business had reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 93.35 crore in the second quarter of the 2022 financial year, the Press Trust of India reported. Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing released its quarterly financial results on November 5 in a filing on the Bombay Stock Exchange. 
 
Revenue from operations was up at Rs 745.22 crore in the quarter which ended in September. This was a significant jump from revenue of Rs 495.56 crore in the second quarter of the 2022 fiscal. 

Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing’s expenses increased by 41.51% year-on-year to total Rs 873.67 crore, according to the filing. The business’ revenue from its textiles and retail segment increased to Rs 15.5 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal, up from Rs 4.03 crore in the same quarter a year ago. 
 
The business’ polyester segment reported a revenue total of Rs 449.24 crore. This represents a 17% year-on-year increase compared to its total of Rs 384.19 crore in the 2022 fiscal’s second quarter.
