Bodice creates first-ever wedding dress

Clothing brand Bodice has made its first-ever wedding dress as a custom order for Chilean designer and artist Alejandra Domínguez, who is collaborating with the brand as a textile artist for its upcoming collections.

Bodice founder and designer Ruchika Sachdeva is known for her minimalist and modern yet delicate designs and has translated this aesthetic into her first bridal gown, Vogue India reported. The satin silk wedding dress is made up of clean lines and subtle tailoring to put the delicate fabric front and centre.
“It happened parallelly to the process of our textile developments,” Domínguez told Vogue India, about how the dress came about. “I had an idea in mind, which I asked them to interpret under the Bodice eye. The result was a sublime and elegant pure satin silk creation, integrating Bodice’s pleats on sunlight colour fabric which came from leftovers in their atelier.”
At Domínguez’s wedding in Chile, the groom was Indian visual artist Abhinav Sethi who wore a soft grey kurta in cotton silk by Antar-Agni. As Domínguez is working with Bodice on textile designs over the coming seasons, further collaborations are in the works.
