Birkenstock to open stores in Saket and Vasant Kunj

German footwear and lifestyle brand Birkenstock has opened two brick-and-mortar stores in Delhi, in Select Citywalk in Saket and in DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj.

The brand opened its Select Citywalk store as its first company-owned store in India as part of a wider plan to expand across the country, Birkenstock announced in a press release. The store was swiftly followed by one in another of Delhi’s largest malls, DLF Promenade.  

“We are thrilled to further capture the Northern market by being omnipresent in the National Capital Region,” said Birkenstock’s regional managing director for Middle East, Africa, and India Jens Hattab in a press release. “Our brand has seen an exponential growth in these last two years in India. Thus, we are excited to achieve new milestones with our robust plans to bolster our presence across the country with our first own store in the heart of India.”

Both stores launched alongside Birkenstock’s spring/ summer 2022 collection which is designed to be both functional and seasonal, according to the brand. The brand’s Select Citywalk store also houses Birkenstock’s 1774 collection which are modern interpretations of styles from the brand’s archives, reimagined by designers including Manolo Blahnik and Jil Sander among others.
