Birkenstock to open second store in Bengaluru

Footwear brand Birkenstock plans to open its second brick-and-mortar store in Bengaluru in the metro’s Orion Mall as the brand strengthens its retail presence in South India. 

The exclusive brand outlet is located on the ground floor of the mall and will open its doors to customers soon, Birkenstock announced in a statement. The store will house both Birkenstock’s classic season-less footwear collection and its seasonal lines for men, women, and children.  

“Birkenstock is proud of our growing presence in the Indian market and are glad to introduce yet another store in the South of India,” said Birkenstock’s regional managing director for Middle East, Africa, and India Jens Hattab, Indian Retailer reported. “Our brand has seen phenomenal growth in the past year, hence excited to bring to life our plans and achieve new milestones with the brand’s expansion across India.”

Birkenstock has recently opened stores in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad; Lulu Mall, Kochi, and Express Avenue Mall, Chennai. The brand is known for its classic slip-on sandals designed to optimise comfort. 

“Birkenstock India is elated to announce the opening of our newest store in the South of India and the second one in Bengaluru,” said Birkenstock India’s managing director Vinay Bansal. “Having expanded our presence across various states, Birkenstock India is excited to tap further into the Indian market. Having received a great response with our recent openings; we look to enhance and curate an experience that takes the brand Birkenstock forward across India.”
