Birkenstock opens first exclusive brand outlet in Chandigarh

Footwear brand Birkenstock has opened its first mono-brand store in Chandigarh in the northern city’s Elante Mall. 

The German brand’s new store measures 1,000 square feet and launched with Birkenstock’s spring/summer 2021 collection, the brand announced in a press release. Its latest footwear offerings for adults and children include earthy hued sandals and reinterpretations of its classic models Arizona, Gizeh, and Madrid.
 
“After celebrating a robust first year in India, we continue growing with our strong roll out of stores across India,’ said Birkenstock’s regal managing director for the Middle East, Africa, and India, Jens Hattab, in a press release.

“We are further building the brand presence in the North, by opening up in one of the region’s key fashion hubs. Birkenstock styles have been a cult favourite of celebrities, fashion designers, style icons and consumers across the globe for decades, and the launch of the Chandigarh store is another stepping stone to strengthen our presence across India.”
 
Birkenstock’s other India stores are located in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The brand’s history dates back to 1774 and it plans to continue to expand its brick-and-mortar presence in India across the country’s key cities, according to Hattab.
