Emerging markets are currently contributing approximately AUD50 million in revenue to Billabong. All of this with attractive margins.

As evidence of its interest in such markets, Billabong created the role of vice-president in charge of international development. Jeremy Hale has acted in this role from the month of October, reporting directly to Neil Fiske, the group's CEO.

Hale was formerly International General Manager at Fox, the brand he joined in 2012. Between 2003 and 2010 his career developed with the DC brand, for whom he was in charge of expansion in South-East Asia. Between 2010 and 2012 he was General Manager for the Quiksilver group's subsidiary in Asia.
