The Bihar Rajya Khadi Gramodyog Board (BRKGB) in India has signed agreements worth ₹95 lakh to supply its products to textile traders and different institutions in Kerala, according to chief executive officer B N Prasad.

The agreements were signed during a three-day buyer-seller meet in Kochi last week. Twenty khadi organisations from Bihar participated in the meet.

Cotton fabric, silk saris, dress material, readymade garments, bedsheets, honey and Madhubani paintings from Bihar were on offer at the meet. Khadi items worth Rs 14 lakh were sold there, Prasad told a top Indian English-language daily.

Bhagalpur silk and cotton fabrics were in huge demand, Prasad added. The event was organised in association with the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

The same khadi institutions will now participate in a show in Salem in Tamil Nadu from October 9 to 11.
