BigBasket announced on Facebook on Wednesday that it has gone from operating at 10% capacity on March 25 to 42% capacity on April 1. The business cited discussions with local authorities and the hard work of its delivery and operations teams as reasons for increased service capability.

“Our HR teams have been working on recruiting and retaining people so that we can increase our capacity,” the business announced on Facebook.

Online job seeking portal Releski Jobs has also sent messages to restaurant industry workers advertising jobs with a number of businesses including BigBasket, ET Bureau reported.

In its search for new employees, BigBasket has also partnered with the Retail Association of India and the National Restaurant Association of India. The business plans to offer jobs to people recently laid off due to the current 21-day anti-coronavirus lockdown.

BigBasket has been posting daily updates on its available services on its Facebook page.

On April 1, BigBasket announced that it has increased its server capacity by 50% to enable its e-commerce store to handle more traffic. The business plans to resolve pre-existing refunds within seven to nine business days and stated that it is currently operational across all cities it functions in apart from Kochi and Indore, where its hopes to be operational soon.
