Big names from fashion industry to participate in NIFT’s international conference

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will be organising an international conference titled 'Rediscovering Culture: Transforming Fashion', with big names from the fashion industry participating in the event.

The event is scheduled to take place from January 31 to February 2 in the national capital New Delhi. The three day conference aims to have constructive dialogues on fashion, textiles and culture. It will kick off with a fashion show wherein the NIFT alumni will showcase their creations.
 
Top Indian designers like Manish Arora, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Suket Dhir, Sanjay Garg, Sunita Shanker, Swati Kalsi, Payal Pratap, Pratima Pandey are some of the designers that will showcase their work at the event

"NIFT has been working with both ends of the fashion spectrum - the legacy of centuries of honed knowledge on crafts and textiles on the one hand, and modern design consciousness and global trends on the other, and believes that this is a seamless continuum of knowledge, practice and sensibility, where each end can be enhanced through understanding and interface with the other," in a statement said Sarada Muraleedharan, Director General, NIFT.
 
Kate Fletcher, Research Professor from London College of Fashion, David Abraham, Creative Director, Abraham & Thakore label, Narendra Kumar, Creative Director, Amazon India, Radha Chadha, writer and luxury brand expert amongst many others will participate in different sessions during the conference.
