The opening is the brand’s first store-opening in the city since it opened its fourth Guwahati store in 2019, according to its website. Assamese actor Barsha Rani Bishaya inaugurated the new store on Friday wearing a red anarkali from the recent Biba and Rohit Bal collaborative festive wear collection.

The Robhit Bal for Biba’s line of lehengas, sarees, and gowns designed for the winter wedding season launched in-store along with Biba’s selection of casual kurtas, loungewear, girls’ wear, and accessories, among other products.

“It was indeed an honour and pleasure to inaugurate the first flagship store of Biba in Guwahati on 3rd December,” said Bishaya about the opening, the brand posted on Facebook. “This is the largest Biba store in the entire North East. I must say the new store has some amazing collections ranging from ethnic wear to modern work outfits.”

Biba recently opened a store in Gurugram and has also opened two locations in New Delhi this year. The brand recently stepped into perfume and expanded its loungewear product selection in recent months following pandemic-driven demand for comfortable ‘at-home’ wear.
