Women’s ethnic wear and lifestyle brand Biba is celebrating International Women’s Day by holding a contest to offer women educational opportunities online.

Biba's new contest is part of its wider community-building activities online - Biba- Facebook

Biba has asked its female fans to share their stories for the chance to win digital educational courses, the brand announced on Facebook.

“A woman wears many hats,” Biba wrote on Facebook, announcing its contest. “A woman has many shades. Tell us yours, and get a chance to win digital courses sponsored by Biba!”

International Women’s Day will take place on March 8 and numerous institutions and brands in India are running campaigns and promotions in the run up to the event. As social media marketing has become an integral part of India’s organised fashion market, brands are taking increasing steps to build online communities around their products. The pandemic and subsequent lockdowns cemented this trend and the’ focus on online interactions for brands is continuing long after retail restrictions have lifted.

Biba also recently launched its spring/summer 2022 collection ‘Many Shades One Me’ online and in its pan-India store network. The bright, floral collection features a range of fusion wear options with floaty layers and delicate, embroidered and beaded details. Notable items include kurta sets with matching, retro-style headbands.
