Bebe recently opened a 500-square-foot accessories store in Ahmedabad’s Alpha One mall with Mumbai-based independent PMC consultant Harshil Khichadia marking the brand’s re-entry into India. The brand aims to open a further 15 more accessories stores across the country as well as 10 clothing stores over the coming two years.

The brand exited the country two years ago after dissolving a partnership with its previous India licence holder, Mumbai-based Major Brands. Bebe had retailed in India with Major Brands for around three years before exiting the partnership.

For its comeback, Bebe has tied up with the Mikaya Brands Private Limited with which it has also launched an e-commerce store to cater to its Indian customers. The e-commerce store stocks the brand’s entire India product range and ships country-wide.

Bebe retails clothing, footwear, and accessories designed for a young female audience. The brand was founded in 1976 and operates globally through its e-commerce store and brick-and-mortar retail outlets.
