Pilgrim is now certified as cruelty free and vegan by PETA, the brand announced in a press release. The brand is working towards the wider goal of becoming a ‘clean beauty’ brand across the board and, towards this aim, also plans to be ‘Plastic Positive’ by October 1.

The brand is committed to sustainable development goal number 12 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development, it said, and is therefore working to minimise its environmental impact.

“At Pilgrim, our goal is to meaningfully contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda,” Pilgrim’s co-founder Gagandeep Makker said in a press release.

“We believe in ‘clean beauty’ and hence offer a product range that is 100% vegan, free of harmful toxins, and not tested on animals. In our initiative to reduce our net plastic consumption, we have decided to minimise plastic use and contribute to recycling. We aim to take more such initiatives in the future to contribute towards sustainable development.”

The brand, founded in 2019, has also partnered with plastic neutrality facilitator The Disposal Company to collect and recycle its plastic waste. This is designed to help the brand to reduce its impact on the environment.
