Beardo steps into men's fragrance
Men’s personal care and beard grooming brand Beardo has stepped into fragrances with its new launch, a perfume named ‘Whisky Smoke’. The fragrance launched with a campaign starring Kunal Kapoor.
The campaign to launch Beardo’s perfume sees Kapoor star alongside actress Chitrangda Singh for a mini film, the brand announced on Facebook. Described as “sizzling,” the fragrance is designed to have a smokey scent with the tagline, “what my man should smell like”.
The fragrance has launched on Beardo’s dedicated e-commerce store which also retails its range of beard oils, haircare, and skincare products. The perfume retails at Rs 1,200 ($16.27), but is currently discounted to Rs 899.
Beardo also recently launched an online contest to find, “India’s Next Beardo”and “The Beard God” among other titles. The contest encouraged men to send in their photo for the chance to win various prizes and titles as part of Beardo’s move to position itself as a well know men’s lifestyle brand in multiple product categories.
Founded by Ashutosh Valani and Priyank Shah, Beardo is based in Ahmedabad and owned by Zed Lifestyle Private Limited. In 2018, fast-moving consumer goods major Marico picked up a 45% stake in the brand for an undisclosed amount.
