Bath & Body Works launches online store in India

American brand Bath & Body Works has gone from bricks to clicks in India with the opening of its official online store in the country.

Bath & Body Works had entered the Indian market through a partnership with Major Brands and opened its first store in India last year at New Delhi’s Select Citywalk.
 
After opening seven retail outlets across Delhi, Mumbai and recently Chennai, the brand has finally decided to go online for growth in the Indian market.

The online store will sell collections of body lotions, soaps and fragrances retailed at their brick-and-mortar outlets. It will cater to customers from across the country and service close to 19000 pin codes now including cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow.
 
“We witnessed strong growth potential in the online space and decided to offer a digital shopping experience to customers especially with a focus to cater to tier 2 and tier 3 cities. We aim to reach out to 10 million customers in the coming years,” in a statement said Tushar Ved, president of Major Brands.
 
Major Brands has earmarked an investment of Rs 80 crore ($11.1 million) over the next five years to open 50 Bath & Body Works stores in India.
