The first Bath & Body Works store in India launched in June at New Delhi’s Select Citywalk (1,300 square feet) and the brand recently opened a second store in Noida’s DLF Mall of India (1,500 square feet). At the store launch, Bath & Body Works International’s Senior Vice President, Tony Garrison, said that the brand is now present in 34 countries and that “India is a next big step for us.”

“We are looking to open 50 Bath & Body Works stores in 5 years but we will follow a cluster strategy,” said Tushar Ved, the President of Major Brands India. The Indian stores will be 100 percent replicas of the brand’s global stores and the product range will be 80 percent the same as all global stores and 20 percent directed by customer demand, according to Renu Karumsi, the Associate Vice President of Bath & Body Works International.

The next two store launches will be in Delhi NCR at Ambience Mall in Gurugram and at Vasant Kunj. Following that, the brand will begin opening stores in Mumbai. Despite the large retail expansion, Bath & Body Works has no current plans to go online in India.
