Bata India appoints Anil Somani as chief financial officer

Footwear major Bata India has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Anil Somani as the chief financial officer (CFO) of the company.

Somani will be joining Bata from Reliance Retail, where he is currently serving as executive vice president & chief financial officer for the digital business. The date of appointment would be informed in due course, said Bata in a statement.

In his new role at Bata, Somani will be lead the financial vertical of the company and be responsible for the future growth of the company.

Anil Somani is a qualified chartered accountant with over 25 years of experience in finance, strategy, compliance, information management and business development functions.

He has worked with organisations like Croma, Walmart, Metro Cash & Carry, and more in several leadership positions.

Bata India is the largest footwear retailer in India with company-owned stores, shop-in-shops and franchisee stores pan-India.
