Barcelona and Madrid are Spain's largest luxury hubs

Barcelona’s Paseo de Gracia and Madrid’s Salamanca district have been named Spain’s most profitable shopping hubs. Both locations account for 45% of all luxury goods sales in the country, with Barcelona’s avenue being at the top of the list.

Brands in Paseo de Gracia make 29% of all luxury sales in Spain, while Madrid’s hip Salamanca district concentrate 16%.
Barcelona is also the largest Spanish destination for non-EU luxury shoppers. The city recorded 47% of the sector’s turnover, and Madrid 39%.
The data, presented at the launch of the summit Shopping Tourism & Economy, belong to Global Blue and were published by the Spanish magazine Centros Comerciales.
