Reem Acra is bringing her bridal show to Europe. And she's doing it with her Spring 2019 runway show, which will be presented on April 25 at Barcelona Bridal Night, the Barcelona Bridal Week trade fair's gala night. The presentation, which will show thirty pieces, will take place only a week and a half after her usual show in New York. It is the first time that the Lebanese-born designer will take part in the event in the Catalan capital, a key date in the bridal sector's calendar.

Having announced last November that it would be adding another day to its Spring event, Barcelona Bridal Week is hoping to host its most international fair yet. With Pronovias and Rosa Clará already confirmed as headliners, the trade fair organized by Fira de Barcelona is continuing its strategy of bolstering international participation, in order to attract buyers and designers, as well as brands from principal bridal markets. Speaking of Reem Acra's show, Estermaria Maruccia, the event's director, stated "We are sure that her participation in BBFW will boost the event's international projection along with that of the whole sector."

Having completed her training at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the  École Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode (ESMOD) in Paris, the designer created her label, Reem Acra, in New York in 1997. Only four years later, Acra consolidated her brand with the launch of her ready-to-wear line. Her designs are currently available at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue in the US, as well as in 20 other countries.

Barcelona Bridal Week will take place from April 23 to 29 in Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc venue. The event will feature the runway presentations of 25 brands and attract over 300 exhibitors, some 60% of which will be international, according to estimates given by the organizers.
