Bangladesh’s Bibi Russell to showcase Rajasthan Khadi collection at India Runway Week

Bangladeshi fashion designer Bibi Russell will showcase her Rajasthan Khadi collection at India Runway Week as a tribute to India’s father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi at the India Runway Week.

Bibi will be using 100 per cent Khadi material which will be spun by weavers from Bikaner, Rajasthan for her collection.
 
"I want to explore the diversity of the fabric and contextualize it in today's world. The idea of presenting Rajasthan Khadi is to get the younger generation to appreciate their countryman's produce," Russell said in a statement.

Avinash Pathania, Founder, Indian Federation for Fashion Development the organizers of the event, said associating with Rajasthan Khadi for one of the shows at the India Runway Week Winter festive 2017 is in "continuation of our commitment to promote weavers of India."
 
The season nine, winter festive edition of India Runway Week set to take place in New Delhi will be opened by James Ferreira. The three-day event will be held from October 6-8 at DLF Place, Saket.
