The tenth season and summer edition of IRW, which will run from April 20 to 22 in New Delhi, will kick off with a runway show by Bibi Russel. The designer will travel from her native Bangladesh to showcase her latest collection, “Rajasthali’, which is inspired by and uses handloom textiles form Rajasthan. The collection is in collaboration with the Rajasthan Khadi Udyog which is responsible for the promotion of textiles from the region.

The upcoming edition of IRW will take handloom textiles as its focus and another designer, Shravan Kummar, will show a collection featuring textiles from Andhra Pradesh. The collection is all hand-dyed and the weavers themselves will model his designs.

Shravan Gajam’s brand Weaver Soul will present a collection featuring hand-woven wrap faced denim fabric made in Telangana and Peeli kothi by Ambica will present a banarasi saree collection on the runway.

“With each season of India Runway Week, we aim to push Indian Handloom & Fresh designers to set new trends in fashion,” said the IFFD’s founder, Avinash Pathania. “With this season we continue to put more focus on Indian handloom fabric with these fresh and amazing designers.”
