Bangalore Times Fashion Week showcases "Magical Nights" theme

Bangalore Times Fashion Week’s 2018 edition was sponsored by Blenders Pride and had the theme of “Magical Nights”. Over the course of the two day event, a host of designers including Rina Dhaka presented their latest collections.

From May 25 to 26, an array of designers showcased their latest collections in Bengaluru. Sponsored by Blenders Pride Magical Nights Music CDs, the fashion week had a focus on occasion and traditional wear.

Rina Dhaka presented her latest collection which was based on a “message of peace” and supported the Smile Foundation which works for women’s empowerment in India. The collection, which had a colour palate of ivories and whites, featured heavy detailing. The celebrity actress Harshika Poonacha opened the runway show and the actress Ruhi Singh closed it.

The Bengaluru based brand Meraj presented its spring/ summer collection entitled “Rizah”, meaning “heavenly beauty”. The collection featured an array of traditional wear, much designed for wedding trousseaus.

Students of Bengaluru’s Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) showed a collaborative collection entitled “Converge”. The collection was inspired by Indian traditions from all parts of the country.

The designer Archana Kochchar’s spring/ summer collection, “Summer Brides” was the event’s finale. The actress Kriti Kharbanda wore a detailed bridal ensemble on the runway to conclude the two day fashion event.
