Bajaj Consumer Q2 profit up 2 percent to Rs 57 crore
Fast-moving consumer goods firm Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd reported a 2 percent increase in its consolidated profit to Rs 57 crore ($7.7 million) for the quarter ending September, as against Rs 56 crore it reported in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company’s revenue for the quarter under review rose 4 percent to Rs 235 crore, compared to Rs 227 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.
Bajaj Consumer’s expenses for the quarter also rose to Rs 166 crore, as against Rs 162 crore in the year-ago quarter.
“Modern trade business was affected due to entry restrictions in stores, closure of malls, and local lockdown. However, e-commerce has been consistently doing well. Overall hair oil offtake recovered in Q2 as the lockdown eased. Demand is recovering at a healthy pace in rural India; urban demand is still below last year’s levels,” the company said in a statement.
Bajaj Consumer Care is part of the Bajaj Group and is one of the leading players in the hair oil and skincare categories in India.
