Bajaj Consumer Care Q1 profit jumps 9 percent to Rs 57 crore
Fast-moving consumer goods firm Bajaj Consumer Care witnessed a 9 percent rise in its net profit at Rs 57 crore ($8.3 million) for the first quarter ended June 30, 2019, as against a net profit of Rs 52 crore it had reported in the year-ago period.
The company’s total income in the quarter under review also jumped by 10 percent to Rs 247 crore as against Rs 224 crore it had posted in the same period last year.
Segment wise the hair oils category reported 9 percent growth in volume while the skincare segment grew by 7 percent in volume during the April-June quarter.
“The growth has been sluggish across the rural and urban area. However, rural markets continue to lead growths across states,” the company said in a statement on the Q1 numbers.
Bajaj Consumer Care has several products in the hair care and skin care segment such as Bajaj Almond Drops, Bajaj Kailash Parbat and Bajaj Brahmi Amla.
