Speaking at a conference organised by the FICCI Ladies Organisation in Delhi, Baba Ramdev announced his plans for making Patanjali the largest fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) brand in the world.

Baba Ramdev, the founder of the Swadeshi brand Patanjali, has high ambitions for his business. “By 2025, Patanjali will be the biggest FMCG brand in the world,” said the guru and businessman at the most recent FICCI Ladies Organisation conference in Delhi as reported by ET Bureau.
Ramdev also argued on the occasion that other FMCG giants such as Hindustan Unilever, Nestle, and Coca Cola have done nothing towards India’s development but that Patanjali will be different. Ramdev announced his plan to spend Rs 100,000 crore ($15 billion) on charity work in the country relating to health, education, research and development, agriculture, and the environment. Ramdev has always had a strong nationalistic band ideology and this has helped to boost sales.
Since 2013, Patanjali’s annual sales have doubled and reached Rs 10,500 crore in March 2018. Although the brand has seen growth slow down over the past 12 months due in part to increased competition in the Ayurvedic sphere, Ramdev is certain that growth will pick up again.
